These sheets are believed to be from a mill in Fabriano, Italy
They could be
also have been made by another northern Italian paper maker,
possibly Cartiera Magnani - which was known for their fine custom
watermarks.
All are from a
group of blank paper salesman samples originally sewn together
in a folio. They may be from one paper mill or several. The chain
lines on all sheets are very similar but watermarks vary.
The fine detail
of the watermark may indicate a later date.
